Social Responsibility and Service
At St. Paul’s Mission School, education is regarded as more than the pursuit of academic excellence or personal achievement. From an early age, students are encouraged to develop awareness of the world around them, to show empathy, and to extend a helping hand to those in need. The school places special emphasis on fostering a sense of social responsibility as an integral part of holistic education.
Throughout the academic year, students participate in a range of community outreach programmes designed to cultivate compassion and service-mindedness. One such initiative is the Second School, which operates within the premises of St. Paul’s Mission School at 34, Scott Lane (Church Block). The children who attend this school come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, many of whom face daily struggles for basic necessities. In an effort to support them, the students of St. Paul’s Mission School sponsor a simple daily meal — a gesture that reflects both care and solidarity.
During the festive seasons of Durga Puja and Christmas, the school organizes visits to orphanages and old age homes. Students of Classes XI and XII take part in these visits, distributing essential items and small gifts to bring comfort and joy to the residents. Through these activities, the school seeks to nurture in its students the values of kindness, empathy, and civic responsibility — shaping them into individuals who are not only knowledgeable, but also compassionate contributors to society.
